5Rhythms is a conscious dance practice where participants gather together dancing instinctively to music, guided by a certified teacher/DJ. It is a combination between group meditation and dancing with the ecstatic abandon of someone who is absolutely certain they are all alone, but instead are in a supportive community.
Classes begin slow, the pace picks up with high energy in the middle and ends with a slow unwinding. Wear clothes you can move in, dance barefoot or with indoor sneakers, bring a water bottle and your open heart. This is a drug and alcohol free practice.
"I believe in the power of motion, the wisdom of gravity, the emptiness of true love, the fact that there is no way out but through the body, no way up unless we all go together, no way down unless we follow the beat, no way in unless we embrace the dark."-Gabrielle Roth

Flowing
Continuous, circular, unbroken movementThink of water, or the way you move when you feel grounded as you explore new terrain. Flowing invites you to follow the natural momentum of your own body.
02
Staccato
Edges, directed, defined anglesThis is the rhythm of definition. Feel your body landing, committing and then moving to its destination with purpose. Staccato holds intention with clarity.
03
Chaos
Surrendered, unpredictable, catharticChaos can feel wild or it can feel like relief. The idea is to move through the chaos rather than around it. With Chaos we can let go of anything we've been holding that we want to release.
04
Lyrical
lighter, effortless, body exhaleIn Lyrical we allow ourselves to feel floaty and find unexpected joy. It's not a performance of happiness, just what surfaces when the charge of chaos is gone and we enter into something bigger than ourselves.
05
Stillness
Integration, spaciousness, quiet presenceStillness we move, we are not frozen. Our movements are small and internal; it almost becomes invisible. In Stillness we connect to our breath and our bodies become one with our energy.
