About Jilsarah:
Jilsarah fell in love feet first with the 5Rhythms on Valentine’s Day 2002. Ten years later, she joined the vibrant, creative, and committed NYC teachers' community. Since then, she has had the opportunity to share her love for the magic and the medicine of the 5Rhythms practice with seniors, persons with Alzheimer's, lawyers and hipsters in NYC. Her teaching style is gentle and intuitive and provides a strong container for deep dance. She weaves inspired soundscapes that create pillows for holding space for Sweat Your Prayers in New York City
When Jilsarah is not dancing, she works as a mediator. Her latest project is an intersection of movement and mediation (dance and dispute resolution)!

Portals to Ecstasy: The Zone.... we've all had a taste of that blissful place while doing sports, being in nature, meditating... time seems to stop and we are ecstatically present and in No Mind. Often a gift from Grace, this state can consciously be invited through the energetic portals of the 5Rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness This class focuses on the physical gateways to each rhythm, opening the possibilities for deeper access to ecstatic trance beyond the mind. Ascend Center 75 Main Street, Cold Spring, NY Entrance on Rock Street, 3rd Floor Heeraa Sazevich is a life-long dancer and meditator with a BA in Theater Arts UCLA. She has danced the 5Rhythms since 1997, participating in many workshops with the source of the practice, Gabrielle Roth and her son Jonathan Horan. She facilitated conscious dance on the island of Oahu, Hawaii and in Sun Valley, Idaho for over 12 years. As a 5Rhythms certified Heartbeat teacher, she combines her knowledge of 5Rhythms, theater, meditation and emotional release to create a safe and creative space for participants to let go and utterly embrace their whole selves through movement. Currently based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Heeraa travels and teaches 5Rhythms globally. More information about Heeraa: www.5rhythms-heeraa.com

Life is a series of transitions, where we leave one moment behind as we move on to the next. These transitions can be as simple as the shift from inside to outside or from stillness to movement and back again. They can be as natural as the changing of the seasons or the life cycle. They can also be dramatic and life changing. As conditions change, our perceptions change, too. Whether major or minor, transitions call upon our most creative responses. Come and join us as we use the map of the 5 Rhythms to explore these portals and dance on our creative edges.

This 5Rhythms class explores energy via the Elements connected to each rhythm: Earth, Air, Fire, Water & Ether. By embodying the qualities of each element in movement, we can receive valuable cellular information about how energy works within us, how it interacts with others in relationship and the world.

Everything that we experience in life is reflected in our bodies. Our emotions and thoughts are directly connected to our body parts and the history of these experiences shape and define our posture and form. We all have unconscious physical muscular patterns in our bodies, which are the representation of unresolved emotional experiences. By connecting to these patterns consciously through movement, and then learning to complete the natural emotional response, we can release those unconscious patterns in our bodies. Anatomy of Emotion is a 5-day 5Rhythms® Heartbeat + Waves investigation where we will explore these emotional landscapes with kindness, curiosity and compassion. In Heartbeat, we explore our emotions as energy, as power, as part of being human. Old feelings that have been locked in our limbs or caged in our chest begin to shake loose. We get comfortable with feelings, neither hanging onto them nor pushing them away. We hope you will join us!

I brushed her off for months and... I did not dance. I do not remember much of my first 5Rhythms class, a High Vibration Waves in NYC, except walking out I was thinking I don't know what just happened, but I need to go back and find out." - Henya Emmer More information about Henya: https://www.5rhythms.com/teachers/Henya+Emmer
